We all know that choice of right mark-up language (HTML or XHTML) plays very vital role in affecting CSS. The simple reason is style sheet will be created according to the HTML and xhtml elements. However, it is pre-requisite that XHTML documents should be one root element and all elements are properly nested and closed.

Earlier, pre dominant HTML language has been used for converting and coding PSD format based files but it lacks in some major areas. The biggest reason majority of web developers switched to XHTML is that HTML become convoluted with tags of some specific browsers. On the other hand, XHTML is highly compatible with all the major web browsers and therefore, W3C recommended it as mark-up language of the future.

The edge of XHTML shows well structured approach in comparison to that HTML use simplistic approach. In a nutshell, an individual can conclude that both – Psd to HTML conversion and PSD to XHTML conversion are reliable way for clean coding but choice of right one entirely depends on the individualistic requirements.
