tag links are right? what should i put on the href attribute if im going to use the browser offline?

Just put the path relative to the html file, like:

My photo (same folder as the html file)
My photo (inside image folder)
Image (outside the folder)

You may also put the absolute path like c:\myfolder\…, but it’s not recommended.

Question by timespiral: How did you see the “html” light?
I am very frustrated with html. Can anyone advise the best way to learn html? I waste so much time trying to align elements like cells in tables. I use css, but I don’t see how folks love it. I have programmed many years in c/c++/java/perl/php/tcl. The logic was beautiful compared to the spaghetti of html. Sorry for venting. Is there any hope? How did you see the “html” light? Any books that our must reads? Any strategies you could share? Thanks!

I think most html programmers use css and the HTML DIV tag to position elements.

If I could program in C# and dump it on the internet and have it fast, then I would do that. For now, though, I use html and php.

In new Yahoo Mail, an ampersand in From: name now being replaced by “& amp;”?

In our mail options, we have the “From” name set to our names separated by an ampersand. For illustration, an e-mail would appear like this:
From: John Doe & Jane Smith

We’ve had it this way for as prolonged as I can remember and it often worked appropriately. Even so, not too long ago (inside the previous week or so), the “&” is becoming replaced by “& amp”. Now e-mail recipients are getting this in our mail:

This appears to be an encoding concern of some sort. I recommend that you report this to the Yahoo! Mail Tech team as it perhaps some thing they have a repair for.

But if you change the ampersand symbol “&” to the word “and” the encoding problem ought to be fixed. It looks that for some cause the ampersand symbol is not staying interpertated correctly by Yahoo!’s servers.

Are there any Web search engines that index and allow searching of HTML code itself rather than text content?

Is there a Web search engine that allows users to search the html code of all sites it indexes, rather than just the text displayed on the site (eg. Google)?

If you think about it, if there was a search engine that searches the html code of websites, if you search for the tag, guess how many results you would get?

Likewise, if you were to search for the tag, websites with hundreds of tables would be high in the results.

And there aren’t very many tags in HTML. You got tables, divs, links, images, but there isn’t very much else you can search for.

Google has an open source code searcher, but that would be the closest to get to a source finder.
