Question by ineeddonothing: How do I use a “form handler” in conjunction with a form that I build (of my own) on Dreamweaver?
I am most confused about the “action” part. In a tutorial book that I have, it says, “In the Action text box, ( in the property inspector after I have selected the form in my document window) type the URL of the GCI or other script that will be processing the form.

What is a GCI? And how do I get this URL. My ISP only gave me an example. As you see below.

This is the “sample” code I was sent by my ISP. What does the “action” line referr to here. I know it’s just an example but I am lost.

Please, help. I just need someone to talk to me in plain English.

The action URL would refer to a specific script file that processes the information from the form. The script could process the information by saving it in a mysql database or using the webhost to email the information to a specific address.

Question by yp_jennifer_32: I am trying to save my PSD file “save as” html in photoshop, but the option is not available in the drop down?
it was there the last time I edited my psd. file….why is it not there now? anyone have any idea? I need the PSD file to be HTML so I can get it to work in dreamweaver…..thx!

Most Photoshop file contain images so you’d normally save as JPEG or GIF or PNG and place the resulting file in Dreamweaver. The exception is Save for Web and Devices on the file menu where you can *also* send the HTML for displaying the image.

let say i have a picture in my page… i dont want to view the larger picture at the new page.. how to make it.. if i just point to the picture, the picture will expand right below it. as far as i know it is javascript.

In dreamweaver create a layer and insert your big image. Make your small image a link so that when you place the mouse on it the layer with the big image shows and on mouseout the layer hides.

This is done via behaviours – show hide layer. Yes this is javascript, but dreamweaver makes it easy.
